Author of exceptional performances, Manu Guigou beat the “four-wheel drive” riders at the end of the 2016 calendar. On this momentum, the Automeca Race Swiss Insurance team will be present again in the French Rally Championship with a Renault Clio R3T entered as a reference driver in the “two-wheel drive” category.

The Renault Clio R3T of Automeca Race Swiss Insurance team have all the latest developments. The RDM preparer watches over the engine and, thanks to the new fuel TBX6R5 made by ETS extension.the cars will enjoy a significant gain in power.

Michelins will equip the Renault Clio R3T and offer a new rain tyre PA00.

“The contribution of our technical partners it is directly measurable”, underlines Manu Guigou. From the Rally Le Touquet Pas-de-Calais, the new tyres Michelin PA00 could be a serious asset. They are very progressive and offer very good traction on wet or very wet roads. The searches ofETS extension and the mapping adapted by RDM will also benefit the engine, even if we know that the performance of the first round of the season will favor the R5s with power exceeding 280 horsepower and the WRCs with over 300 horsepower. »

Aiming to start the year at the Le Touquet rally, Manu Guigou knows this rally promises to be contested, with stiff competition:

“To fight on the front lines, you still need to be fully engaged. We know the season will be very long, but we have to score points regularly. »

Already present alongside Manu Guigou for the last two seasons, Christopher Guieu will announce the notes on the right seat of the Renault Clio R3T:

“This year 2017 promises to be very rich with many trips. I am very happy to drive with Automeca in the French Rally Championship. It is a very professional team that gives confidence to its crews. In the Clio R3T, everything is great. Manu manages to get close to perfection during each rally. And to beat R5, you have to adopt this pace. My goal is to maintain the same level of precision in my work. Manu Guigou is a demanding rider who has taught me a lot in recent seasons and, if I also have a plan in the World Championship, it is also thanks to him! »

A second Renault Clio R3T will be entered for Jean-Paul Monnin and Mickael Chatelain. Jean-Paul Monnin will make his debut with the Automeca Race Swiss Insurance team on the occasion of the Rallye Le Touquet Pas-de-Calais to win the title in the Clio R3T France Trophy:

“It’s my return to the Renault Sport promotion formulas after a season in the Twingo R2 Trophy six years ago. Renault Sport played the game with nice bonuses, fuel and tyres, as well as the possibility of receiving a Clio RS in the event of a title. I still have the same desire to fight to win, because I love competition. And if it comes to driving in a Renault Sport promotional formula, I wanted to be with the Automeca Race Swiss Insurance team. I know that Manu Guigou knows the car perfectly. The goal is therefore to be first at the end of the season. I already know Rally Le Touquet Pas-de-Calais very well. It is an atypical event that offers various footholds. It will be necessary to score points from this first round. »

Pascal Calvel and Virginie Blindel will be at the start of the Le Touquet Pas-de-Calais VHC Rally. Second at Rally Montagne-Noire with the Porsche 911 Gr.3 del Automeca Race Swiss Insurance teamPascal Calvel will continue to drive this Porsche, fully restored in the Automeca workshops since the Touquettoise event.

627 kilometers make up the route of the Rallye Le Touquet Pas-de-Calais, the first round of the 2017 season of the French Rally Championship. Seventeen specials, seven of which are different, represent a total of 210 timed kilometres.
