While auto insurance is expected to grow by around 3% in 2023, Families of France and Selectra have decided to join forces to launch a first group purchase. This is the first time in France for car and motorcycle insurance, reports BFMTV. With this offer, the consumer association and the broker promise a profit of 100 euros the first year.
“Bonuses, malussé, small pilots, young pilots of small or large engine capacity: through this innovative operation, Families of France and Selectra offer solutions suitable for everyone. The more participants there are, the more advantageous the conditions negotiated” , he promises, in a statement joint press, Families of France and Selectra. And add: “The purpose of this operation is to negotiate discounts on insurance premiums for the participants (months offered or reduction percentages) guaranteeing them the best coverage according to their profile”, underline in a joint press release Families of France and Selectra.

A call for tenders in January 2023
Registration for this offer is done on a dedicated site. It’s free and without obligation. To subscribe, simply enter your contact details, your profession, the type of trip (private, business or both), the age of the vehicle, the number of kilometers traveled per year and the driver’s history (driving license age , complaints).

Once this information is submitted, Selectra will send “a call for tenders to market insurers” in January 2023. Pre-registrations may also be considered during the negotiation period, specifies the insurer. Subsequently, between March and April, the chosen proposal will be sent to subscribers, with details of the guarantees and advantages. They will then be able to subscribe to it.
Between 80 and 100 euros of savings
The families of France and Selectra hope to be able to negotiate “at least two months free the first year, then a discount of between 80 and 100 euros,” anticipates Nolwenn Fajolles, head of Selectra’s group purchasing department, with BFMTV. Last year the insurer also launched a group purchase, but for home insurance with a 25% discount. 15,000 people had signed up.
